Producing SONORA RALLY: Stage by Stage

Sonora Rally is one of the most demanding rally raid competitions in the Americas. It runs across the Sonoran Desert, with stages that change every day: dunes, remote terrain, and constant navigation.

It’s not a static event. It’s a moving operation. And that completely changes how it needs to be produced.

For over six consecutive years, we’ve worked on Sonora Rally, producing content for each stage, day after day, in real time. Behind every delivery is an operation built around logistics, safety, and field coordination. We don’t just document what happens. We translate the experience into content that creates real value for the organization and its partners.

In 2023, Sonora Rally became part of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC), organized by A.S.O., the same organization behind the Dakar. We were responsible for content production within this international framework, working alongside global media teams and sports organizations.

The content was distributed in over 180 countries, in real time and across multiple languages. The challenge wasn’t just reach. It was maintaining consistency, clarity, and quality under pressure—where every delivery shapes how the event and its partners are perceived.

Operating in the desert

In 2026, content production continued, and every day starts with planning:

  • We define access routes.

  • Move equipment into position.

  • Coordinate timing with the race.

  • Assess terrain and safety conditions.

We operate in the desert—long distances, constantly changing conditions. That’s why logistics goes beyond support and becomes part of the production itself, keeping the operation stable under pressure and allowing the rally to be shown with clarity, scale, and accuracy.

Filming the Rally

In every stage, cinematography goes beyond capturing speed. We focus on close shots and low angles that show how each vehicle interacts with the terrain. Drones open up the scene—revealing the route, the scale of the desert, and how competitors move through it. Transitions are built in-camera. Dust, direction, and changes in scale connect each shot without relying on effects.

All under one principle: control and safety. Every camera position is designed to capture the action without interfering with the race.

Producing Sonora Rally has never been about simply covering an event. Over time, we’ve built a system that allows us to operate in motion, make decisions in the field, and produce content in real time—without compromising quality or consistency.

A system that integrates logistics, cinematography, and delivery under pressure. And turns each stage into a valuable asset for the organization and its partners.

That’s how the rally stops being just a moment, and becomes content that continues to deliver results.
